I’m interested in how people, economies and governments behave (and misbehave) — and what the consequences are. My research spans the behavioural economics of the environment, arts and culture, housing and wellbeing.
I’ve worked across academia, the public sector and public broadcasting, connecting ideas, evidence and communication to make complex questions more accessible, useful and engaging.
This site brings together some of that work, with the aim of making it easier to find, explore and use. It covers 100+ scholarly publications, 175+ presentations, 150+ media articles, 700+ TV episodes , 30+ funds, 30+ years of teaching, 75 + appointments and 16 honours and awards.
These numbers tell part of the story. What happened along the way is less straightforward. I'd like to share some of that journey here.
