My work in broadcast and audiovisual media spans almost three decades, combining writing, presenting and, occasionally, directing and producing across television, documentary, educational and short-form formats including 16 public education videos, eight non-fiction television series comprising around 700 episodes, and seven documentary film projects. Some of this has been broadcast internationally (ARTE and RAI).
TV series. Until 2008, I wrote and presented (non-fiction) television series for prime-time national broadcasting on Television Malta, including Viva Malta (on joining the European Union), Naħdem u Kif (on the economy and gender equality), Bir-rispett kollu (on current affairs) and Tikka fuq kollox (400 mini documentaries). I also contributed as scriptwriter and live presenter to several seasons of Xarabank (current affairs). Many of these programmes received Malta Broadcasting Awards. I gradually stepped back from presenting on television, partly because I enjoy being behind the scenes just as much—and, honestly, because I have never quite reconciled myself to television make-up.
Recent work. My more recent work includes documentaries, short films and educational videos on environmental, social and economic issues, covering topics such as wellbeing, decision-making, fisheries, the circular economy and waste, produced for organisations ranging from the University of Malta and government agencies to NGOs and international broadcasters.
